Mukhtar 사람 명부

The muhtar (Arabic: مختار, romanized: mukhtār, lit. 'chosen one'; Greek: μουχτάρης) was a civilian administrator, a type of lesser mayor, in villages and neighbourhoods in the Ottoman Empire. It was adopted into the local administration of Turkey as a village or neighbourhood mayor. It also exists as a honorific for clan elders in Gaza.
